About

Chroma: a trio of musicians who live to create and play music.

Chroma is a Jacksonville based trio of musicians who hold their roots in melodic song writing and progressive psychedelic rock while gracefully stepping into the realms of bluegrass, barbershop, and classical music. Chroma is as diverse as the color spectrum their name implies. Chroma can be seen playing area clubs, festivals, theaters, and arts markets.

Drummer Alex Hayward, bassist Adam Mantovani, and former keyboardist Loren Gildar began playing together in jr. high at the age of 13. In 2003 guitarist Ariel Sarno joined the group and Chroma was formed. After four years and two albums, Gildar and Sarno parted ways with the band. In August 2007 guitarist and friend Paul Miller  joined Hayward and Mantovani bringing a new found source of energy and creativity.

Chroma has backed up artists such as George Clinton and John Popper of Blues Traveler at the George Clinton superbowl party, and shared the stage with act’s such as Donovan Frankenreiter, Perpetual Groove, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and Robert Walters. Chroma has also been seen at Festivals with acts such as Keller Willams, Mofro, Col. Bruce Hampton, The Codetalkers, Tishamingo, Stop Drop & Roll, and New Monsoon.

Chroma can be seen from Florida to Maine so keep your ears peeled.
